PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) ist eine populäre Tierrechtsorganisation mit Sitz in Norfolk Virginia (USA). Die Organisation wurde 1980 von Ingrid Newkirk (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ingrid_Newkirk) und Alex Pacheco gegründet und ist in Nordamerika und Europa aktiv.
